She's never been POTUS before.

And what her husband did as POTUS is irrelevant and has nothing to do with her.

That's been emphasized repeatedly here on DU.

"What her husband did as POTUS is irrelevant and has nothing to do with her." This is a total misstatement. In fact we have always insisted that although Hillary will make her own decisions, she can and will use Bill as an adviser and a resource.

Leaves my mind open to it all,

not always comfortable not having that what I perceive as a safe stance to hold onto though , I will say I smiled reading this,

I also admire Ms Clinton and have wished she would be our first female President for some time and yet I admire all of our candidates that have entered the race....

The bottom line for me is that I've listened to the other side of stacked candidates and not one of them comes close to earning anything from me regarding their politics but contempt...not a good emotion when it comes time to pull that lever....

Perhaps you are on the wrong thread? Or, perhaps you are looking for a fight?

Clinton's vote did nothing to send troops to war. Her vote was not a deciding vote, or a vote to go to war. Your correlations are not sufficiently nuanced to show an understanding of events. Have a good night.

11. Hillary Clinton Voted to Continue Cluster Bombing Civilians

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/12/21/425303/-Hillary-Clinton-Voted-to-Continue-Cluster-Bombing-Civilians

This vote was cast in September 6, 2006 on an amendment to the Defense Appropriations act by Senator Dianne Feinstein.

Before I get into why this was such an important amendment and why a no vote was so terrible, I just want to post the vote totals with presidential candidates in bold.

30 Democrats voted YEA: Akaka (D-HI), Baucus (D-MT), Bingaman (D-NM), Boxer (D-CA), Byrd (D-WV), Cantwell (D-WA), Carper (D-DE), Conrad (D-ND)
Dayton (D-MN), Dorgan (D-ND), Durbin (D-IL), Feingold (D-WI), Feinstein (D-CA), Harkin (D-IA), Jeffords (I-VT), Johnson (D-SD), Kennedy (D-MA), Kerry (D-MA), Kohl (D-WI), Leahy (D-VT), Levin (D-MI), Menendez (D-NJ), Mikulski (D-MD), Murray (D-WA), Obama (D-IL), Reed (D-RI), Reid (D-NV), Sarbanes (D-MD), Stabenow (D-MI), Wyden (D-OR)

15 Democrats and every Republican voted NAY (R's not listed):
Bayh (D-IN), Biden (D-DE), Clinton (D-NY), Dodd (D-CT), Inouye (D-HI), Landrieu (D-LA), Lautenberg (D-NJ), Lieberman (D-CT), Lincoln (D-AR), Nelson (D-FL), Nelson (D-NE), Pryor (D-AR), Rockefeller (D-WV), Salazar (D-CO), Schumer (D-NY)

Now, on to the importance of this amendment.

Cluster munitions are large bombs, rockets, or artillery shells that contain up to hundreds of small submunitions or individual bomblets. They are intended for attacking enemy troop formations and armor, covering approximately a .6-mile radius. In other words, their swath is over one-half mile. Yet in practice they pose a real threat to the safety of civilians when used in populated areas because they leave hundreds of unexploded bombs over a very large area and they are often inaccurate. They end up in streets and cities where men and women go to work and do their shopping. They end up in groves of trees and fields where children play. They end up in homes where families live. And in some cases, up to 40 percent of cluster bombs fail to explode, posing a particular danger to civilians long after the conflict has ended.

This is particularly and sadly true of children because bomblets are no bigger than a D battery and in some cases resemble a tennis ball. Children outside with their friends and relatives come across these cluster bombs. They pick them up out of curiosity because they look like balls and they start playing with them and a terrible result follows.

If you don't want to give it up, then, ya know there is another equally troubling thread that asks you to give it up for Bernie. Perhaps you are in the wrong thread. Or, perhaps you are just looking for argument?

You may trust Obama but he obviously does not trust "we the people". he just passed the largest trade bill in history that affects 80% of the U.S. Economy....and nobody even knows what s in it. That does not bother you at all?

Why don't we just all wear signs on our back that say "please fuck me in the ass" while we blindly trust our politicians...because that is what we are going to get with that trade bill.

As for Hillary, she is just another corporate Democrat who is taking millions from banks and corporations to support her campaign. Why anyone would think her loyalties/goals would be the betterment of women and children is beyond me.

That's my biggest issue with her. I am fed up with the way campaigns are funded now, and I know it seems that to be competitive, she has to play the game. Part of playing the game? Payback for those donations because nothing is free.

TPP is an example of exactly that.
