He's been warming that seat for way too long. Time for him to go, and take Uncle Tom with him.

I'm very happy that Roberts seems to be a sane, rational and unbiased justice. I guess we can thank the dimwit for one thing.

roberts has been on our side on the aca, but remember that the aca was always the market-based, conservative alternative (proposed by the heritage foundation) to more liberal healthcare reforms (single-payer, e.g.)

i'd simply say that his bias has been more "right-wing/conservative" than "republican".

forgive me if i don't celebrate this distinction.

And of course I wish a liberal justice were in his place. But, at least in terms of health care, he has proved his trustworthiness.

then again, i suppose it's progress that there were only 3 dissenting votes instead of 4....

seriously, at best this case was about trying to bring down an entire huge federal program on the basis of what was at worst a tiny drafting error. reasonable justices don't seize upon a drafting error and finalize their opinion then and there on that basis. in fact, it reduces legal analysis to a computer program that just crashes when the program isn't perfect.

they are the true definition of judicial activism - making laws fit what they want them to do, rather that what they way or the intent.

bad for democracy.

reveal that they are not being objective and that this is a personal crusade. Nothing about justice.

and they know they are untouchable and so can act like tyrants.

they are a big disgusting joke on us all.

History will not treat him kindly for his decision. He's created quite the legacy for himself and he deserves the future generations of scorn that's going to be heaped on his head.

with how Scalia is actually thought of. I'd really like to know what his legacy will be.
