Elisabeth Hasselbeck gets smacked down by the President

VIDEO: http://www.5min.com/Video/Obama-Distinguishes-Himself-From-Romney-On-Gay-Marriage-517366981

Hasselbeck asked what was the difference between President Obama and Romney on same sex marriage, when they both say it should be left to the States to decide. And President Obama pointed out to her that Romney wants a Federal Constitutional Amendment defining marriage which would mean the Federal Government would not recognize the marriages that New York has said are legal. So there are real differences in their positions.

Hasselbeck:
at this point, you both said leave it to the states to decide."

The President response:

"Elisabeth, that's actually not true," Obama responded.

Romney wants a Federal "constitutional amendment," which "federalizes" a ban on gay marriage.

"OK," Hasselbeck replied.

But with that being said, I still got the impression she was trying to "ambush' him.

Obviously, it didn't work.

Because I know this man is congenial and was raised with manners. EH had a right to ask the question, and the Prez delivered beautifully (though I don't agree with him and believe he should trump RMoney by pushing federal legislation to expand human rights on this, and every issue - don't leave it to the assholes who will show up to the polls to take away someone else's right to the "Pursuit of Happiness", I say.) I can't hate on her for that.

It's important for the show's survival to have differing opinions, but she just comes off as very shrill and closed-minded.

It is not enjoyable to watch.

Considering the sum total of her "experience" was being on the show Survivor, it's a wonder why she's even on my tee-vee at all.

Please use a phrase other than 'smacked down'.
It's not only insulting to abused women, it is offensive to Obama as a respectable and honorable man.
Like what?
I don't know - decimates opposition arguments with facts and solid track record.
Anything else, really.
