Hasselbeck asked what was the difference between President Obama and Romney on same sex marriage, when they both say it should be left to the States to decide. And President Obama pointed out to her that Romney wants a Federal Constitutional Amendment defining marriage which would mean the Federal Government would not recognize the marriages that New York has said are legal. So there are real differences in their positions.
Hasselbeck:
at this point, you both said leave it to the states to decide."
The President response:
"Elisabeth, that's actually not true," Obama responded.
Romney wants a Federal "constitutional amendment," which "federalizes" a ban on gay marriage.
"OK," Hasselbeck replied.

(904 posts)He was very respectful and that's what I like about him.
But with that being said, I still got the impression she was trying to "ambush' him.
Obviously, it didn't work.

(16,887 posts)She thinks she is clever even though she is an idiot....she tried to ambush him and he respectfully answered her pointing out the facts....
Sadly, from the look on her face and response, she still didnt get it.....

(18,672 posts)Because I know this man is congenial and was raised with manners. EH had a right to ask the question, and the Prez delivered beautifully (though I don't agree with him and believe he should trump RMoney by pushing federal legislation to expand human rights on this, and every issue - don't leave it to the assholes who will show up to the polls to take away someone else's right to the "Pursuit of Happiness", I say.) I can't hate on her for that.

It is not enjoyable to watch.

It's not only insulting to abused women, it is offensive to Obama as a respectable and honorable man.
Like what?
I don't know - decimates opposition arguments with facts and solid track record.
Anything else, really.
