Obama said "anonymous heroes" that made ripples "deserve our thanks."

And many of those anonymous heroes are right here on DU. I know I will forget people, but some of the ones I remember through the years are listed below. These people fought, and argued on behalf of equality. Many are tireless fighters. So many of us were disappointed by proposition H8, but they realized they had to fight harder and smarter. Since then the victories have been swift and numerous. Some of the anonymous heroes on DU that I would like to commend are:

Bluenorthwest
Bluebear
Behind the Aegis
William769
Jamastiene
Maven
Marrah_G
Vanje
Heddi
Prism
xchrom
yardwork
TygrBright
DURHAM D
pinto
dbackjon
hrmjustin
La Lioness Priyanka
Harvey Korman
Andy Stephenson
ronnykmarshall

I know I missed people (it took me 10 mins to find Harvey Korman) and you are welcome to add names. To all of those on the list, and the many more on DU... Thank You

I opened this intending to write there are multitudes of heroes whose names will never be known to us. I just said in another post, sometimes, just being open and honest is an act of activism. I am honored to be on that list!

I would add TheHandpuppet, Lyric, LostOne4Ever, HillWilliam, Zorra, WillParkinson, TexasTowelie, Fearless and kevinBgoode1 (whom I know personally and know of his accomplishments) as well as those who are allies, because they are just as important and have been there when we needed a shoulder to cry on, to shake a fist with us in anger, and to celebrate our victories. Like you, I will also likely forget some, but these posters immediately come to mind:

Starry Messenger
Heidi
CallMeWesley
WarrenDeMontegue
sheshe2
JustAnotherGen
ismnotwasim
beam me up scottie
ScreamingMeemie
stevenleser
and my buddy... one_voice!

Thank you. I am so proud of the decision yesterday, long time coming for LGBTQ.

Finally, marriage equality for all the States~
