President Kennedy had to federalize the National Guard during the civil rights conflicts of the early 1960s. President Obama may have to order federal troops to arrest the Texas AG. Probably won't happen, but probably should happen.

"Tarrant County quickly moved to issue same-sex marriage licenses Friday.

In Dallas County, officials began issuing same-sex marriage licenses, extending regular working hours and judges worked to waive the waiting period so couples could marry the same day.

Licenses were being issued, and marriages were performed, across the state.

In Houston, the county clerk initially put the brakes on the issuance of licenses, saying he needed state approval, only to change course within hours."

When can same-sex couples get married? Gay marriage live updates:
http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2015/06/when_can_same-sex_couples_get.html

Some of the 67 counties in Ala. will no longer perform civil marriages for anyone...
that was the decision of our county also, the Probate Judges refuse to marry gays, and now straight couples.
You can get a license from the courthouse, but unless you can find a pastor to perform the deed, you can't arry in the county.

Other counties esp. those with cities ( Birmingham, Montgomery, etc) will provide civil marriages to everyone,
and some pastors will.

to get the SCOTUS ruling enforced.

Judge Johnson was the hardass federal judge who made sure desegregation was ENFORCED in Alabama.

Frank Minis Johnson, Jr. (October 30, 1918 – July 23, 1999) was a United States Federal judge, serving 1955 to 1999 at the District and Appeals Court levels. He made landmark civil rights rulings that helped end segregation and disenfranchisement of African Americans in the South. In the words of journalist and historian Bill Moyers, Judge Johnson "altered forever the face of the South.

AG: Gay marriage not allowed in Mississippi just yet

JACKSON, Mississippi Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood has released the following statement regarding the legalization of same-sex marriage.

“The Supreme Court’s decision is not effective immediately in Mississippi.

It will become effective in Mississippi, and circuit clerks will be required to issue same-sex marriage licenses, when the 5th Circuit lifts the stay of Judge Reeves’ order.

This could come quickly or may take several days.

The 5th Circuit might also choose not to lift the stay and instead issue and order, which could take considerably longer before it becomes effective.”

The court’s ruling on Friday means the remaining 14 states, in the South and Midwest, will have to stop enforcing their bans on same-sex marriage.

To crank up the intensity on issues like guns, Pledge Of Allegiance,
and other areas of "rights" they consider important.

Wow--No "Gay" issues anymore? If so,
This removes an entire line-of-defense from the Right's arsenal.

Look out for compensation in the media --FOX, especially (i.e. on-air conversations will switch to new emotionally-tinged topics to keep the rightwing properly inflamed and united).

It has to happen.

Rightwingers must be kept angry, in order to keep the political rightwing unified and effective.
The elites clearly need this to be maintained.

New issues, presumably loaded with hot emotions, must, and will, be inserted into the American dialog, just to keep the wingnuts screaming and ranting, which is their programmed role.
