Hard to believe it was not until 2003

when SCOTUS ruled that same sex in the privacy of one's own bedroom was not illegal.

When the CBS correspondent (sorry cannot recall her name) reported the vote this morning, she added that there really was no surprise how Kennedy would have voted and cited his emotional comments back in 2003. And I thought to myself - until 2003 gays could have been arrested for loving someone of the same sex??

women were arrested as male impersonators for wearing trousers with a fly front. Men who appeared to be gay were sometimes arrested and often beaten senseless. Lawrence v. Texas was a long time coming and Obergefell v. Hodges even longer.

Now GOTV and protect the gains that have been made for freedom and equality!
