The remarkable extent of the ruling

correct me if I am wrong, but the case was about States having to accept Gay Marriages from other States. The way they are legally obliged to do with straight marriage. Not only did the court say, yes you do, marriage is marriage BUT they said marriage is a Constitutional right and States have to allow and inact all marriages themselves, not just accept it from othwer States.
The scope of this is grand.
Assholes (like Christie today) who say it should be up to the States, well, Constitutional Rights are unalienable and not up for a vote.

equally protected as other innate characteristics, like race and gender. Had they done so, it would have illegalised firing someone over their sexuality. That fight remains for another day.

Today we celebrate.

And then celebrate some more.
