If the success, failure, or sanctity of your OWN marriage is predicated on your right to deny

someone ELSE permission to marry, maybe marriage isn't for you in the first place.

Look inside yourself and live your own life. Better yet: Judge not; lest YE be judged.

This paraphrases what I posted on my Facebook page this morning, and it's already cost me one lifelong friend. HER loss. Another lifelong friend posted something about Sodom and Gomorrah in response to a happy post from a gay cousin of mine, starting an argument whose posts I had to delete. What the fuck is wrong with people?

I shall pass this way but once. What right to I have to make it my business to deny someone their happiness during their short stay on this earth? Everyone on DU who's read more than a few of my posts knows I'm the Proud Parent of a Transgender Child. Everyone who knows me on Facebook knows the same thing, yet two of the closest friends I've ever had chose to show their true colors because they disagree with me.

It's a great day, not in the slightest bit overshadowed by the loss of two lifelong friends I'm happy to cut ties with in light of their inability to live and let live.

That said; it's time to fuckin' party. Off to Chad's with me. Love you all, even the Hillary supporters LOL I KID! I KID!
