I haven't popped in over there in years, because it makes my head hurt. I lasted 3 minutes. Another poster was wishing for an F5 tornado to hit the Pride parade in Chicago. Racism and homophobia sure seem to go hand in hand. What a bunch of twisted fools.

motivating force that drives them in life. I used to think it was conditioned behavior, but more and more based on brain studies it's becoming clear it is also genetically based, as well as conditioned behavior. One might be predisposed to exhibit this behavior, but the unceasing hatred by many in this country brings it out. What a pitiful way to lead ones life, infested with hatred and feeling proud of that hatred.

Okay, I'm an idiot, but...

Would someone want to explain to me why the rainbow is used as a symbol of support for LGBT rights? Even though I really have no idea why, I have to say that I don't believe a better symbol could have been chosen.

This picture, to me, kind of represents the whole idea of a rainbow. A beautiful, natural, seemingly magical occurrence that happens after a storm. In many ways, the rainbow after the storm could be symbolic of the long, stormy fight for equal rights, and the beautiful celebration of equality for all.

To see the White House wearing this symbol of love and equality is wonderful!

I believe it was originally used in the 60s by the peace movement to symbolize different cultures and people together.

I went over to FR, because I wanted to see heads exploding. I couldn't make it 3 minutes. One person was wishing for an F5 tornado to hit the parade in Chicago, and someone said that the "White Hut" would be lit up tonight. How do these people live with themselves.

depths of despair over the years. Today has been so refreshing and uplifting. There really is hope! I also attribute much of this to President Obama in being a force for equality!
