Baltimore prosecutor Marilyn Mosby in "Vogue Magazine" enrages

People are upset because they assume she is posing for fashion stories like a model, when it is one photo (by Annie Leibovitz) accompanying an article about Mosby. Vogue regularly carries articles about politicians and their spouses (both Obamas, Hillary, Elizabeth Warren, Wendy Davis, the Castro brothers, Cindy McCain) and people like Sarah Harrison of Wikileaks, Gabby Giffords, Alex Wagner, Rachel Maddow, Cecile Richards).

And Vogue is still licking its wounds from its moronic "Rose in the Desert" piece on Asma Al-Assad. http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2012/01/the-only-remaining-online-copy-of-vogues-asma-al-assad-profile/250753/

Glad to see them talking about women who actually do things other than being bleached blonde, rich, thin and married to lunatics with delusions of grandeur.

who think she is living it up/getting the celebrity treatment/promoting "racist" ideas . Look around the net, they are just getting word of her presence in Vogue. You will hear more conservatives lambasting her for being in Vogue. They seem to think she is posing in couture with male models and talking about fashion and hair. Vogue covers Dems probably 60-70 percent and Repubs 40-30 percent. Cindy McCain, Rand Paul, Nikki Haley, Jon Huntsman, Laura Bush and her daughters, and Jenny Sanford have all been featured for Vogue (these are the ones I can recall as of now.) I don't believe either Romney nor Sarah Palin were ever featured though!

Would a male prosecutor be seductively posed that way with the legs featured like in that picture? Or would he be standing up and more in a pose of strength and toughness?

has the shadow of her skirt on her leg just like that one did, so where's the outrage?

Women who look like women, we can't have that!

Honestly, I don't see it and I'm pretty sensitive to these things. Professional women can't be photographed sitting down? I'm not trying to start anything, I just don't see what you see.

cops who kill unarmed black men have been getting charged all over the country.

She showed how it's done and cop apologists' heads have been exploding ever since.

In other words, she watches Fox and the local right wing radio station and maybe looks at the front page of the Chicago Tribune occasionally. She was positive that Mosby was literally one of the worst and most dangerous people in the world. We're in an adult class comparing aspects of culture. The instructor was unexpectedly absent last week so our small group discussed related issues and this nonsense came out. Hopefully the other very well informed liberal in the group and I persuaded her to take another look at her assumptions. This woman is both intelligent and curious about the world, so perhaps our intervention helped.

Pretty much what you'd expect if it were a male prosecutor. Good for Vogue and the photographer for not devolving this into some "Prosecutors Gone Wild" crap. She's so far above that.

I often think her press conference and a big smile comes across my face. I remember the tone of her voice and her unwavering look:

Reporter: what will prevent another Freddie Gray?
Mosby: Accountability.
R:There hasn't been any for so long.
Mosby:You're getting it now.

That's how you do it.

She is one of my favorite public figures. If only there were a million more like her. I wish her all the luck and strength she will need to get justice. Gotta go read the article.

Run a story about a Prosecutor doing her job and taking a picture of her in her office?

It's unreal that they run a picture of a person they are discussing. How dare that woman be so intelligent, accomplished and powerful?

And yes, you would have to be absolutely blind not to notice that she is, in fact, drop-dead gorgeous, but that isn't the focus of the article.

She is bright and talented.

I guess everybody wants to make it about her looks, but frankly, it is really difficult NOT to notice how absolutely beautiful she is.

Sue me.
