person are offended, then that is that.

When there is a flag that represents slavery and death of white, str8t, non Jewish males, let me know, I will deal with that when it comes.

It's simply a market decision by a distribution company reacting to the bottom line... though no doubt we'll soon hear about the oppression of thousands of Hazard fans who will be forced (forced, I tell you) to find another network to watch it.

The car was part of the joke. Maybe it's time to retire the show, but I find it hard to believe that Dukes of Hazzard fans are all racist.

They claimed this was part of Hollywood's attempts to make them look like dimwitted, backward fools.

Many of them have now become the parody.

They now see the "removal" of the show as oppression.

Give up trying to please hyper-oppression obsessed idiots.

It is not ever going to happen.

As a black man, I can safely say the Dukes of Hazzard is not offensive to me. I find it hard to believe there are, or would be, very man serious complaints against TV Land for airing the show.

Honestly, this is the type of response that is not helpful to any overall cause on our side. The flag shouldn't be displayed on any government grounds or public space, except as a museum piece with the proper amount of cultural sensitivity.

To remove outdated pieces of consumer literature or media that include it is overkill.

TV Land can do what they want, of course.

Is this "political correctness" carried to an extreme? Is it really about a "symbol of hate"? A lot of things in our society are used for hateful purposes, including the flag, guns, free speech, and even the Bible, but do we want to ban them all?

not unlike the "Beverly Hillbillies" was parody of a certain demographic of SW whites.

I even finally got to watch the 1941 film "Tobacco Road" about 5 or 6 years ago, which I had heard about pretty much all my life, and never realized that it too was a comedy/parody of poor whites. They have the whole thing on youtube now...

IMHO, what TVLand did was an attempt at reverse-psychology in order to trivialize the real issue and provoke a backlash.
