Just 10 minutes of watching convinces me that we are DOOMED to perpetual patrolling of massively armed SWAT teams on all our streets.. ESPECIALLY on the occasions of our founding National Holiday.
We must turn in our neighbors and family members for seeming peculiar!
"If you see something, say something"
Umm . If we see WHAT, like? Oh I don't know, there's nothing specific, you know.. just something that seems sort of weird..
If the point of terrorism is to terrorize, they COULDN'T have a more compliant handmaiden than CNN
Oh, and if that doesn't do the trick. . .

(23,946 posts)Next up on CNN: "ISIS controlled Ebola infected sharks"?
America has been turned by it's media into a trembling armed camp that even a trillion dollar a year military and security force can not apparently soothe.
America the Beautiful?
No, more like America the Pantloadfull.

(23,946 posts)Canada just had it's Independence Day....not a whiff of fear, just joyous celebration, but then again something has to be done with all the useless military equipment purchased by America...might as well turn it on the population.
CNN: Handmaiden of ISIS....and Terror Sharks. Indeed.

(40,416 posts)I mean, if one is going to have ISIS controlled Ebola infected sharks, they had better have fricking LASER beams on their heads. Better yet, put thousands of them into a Sharknado. And they are hungry!
"ISIS controlled water spouts each full of thousands of Ebola infected hungry sharks all with fricking LASER beams on their heads."
(Tonight on CNN.)
Now, isn't that better?

(23,946 posts)inconvenient anti-fear fact that CNN would prefer to bury along with their history of fearmongering when opportunity arises....I remember Ebola and how even way too many on DU went fear crazy....on command of the media.
I suppose any imperial nation with military bases in over 100 countries makes a lot of enemies so to some degree I understand the fear. Ask the British and French about that.
You reap what you sow.

behind every tree...
Well it's just tailor-made for CNN, isn't it?

(3,433 posts)All of the major networks engage in sensationalism for profit. When there is no tragedy or scandal to exploit, they run with headlines like these to get people to tune in. The delivery on news on the internet is even worse. Click bait headlines combined with comment threads cause people to engage emotionally which in turn keeps them coming back and back again. The resulting page hits create advertising revenue. Ever since the occupy movement descended on wall street, I have been saying that the media needs to be next. 6 corporations own more than 90% of all news media in this country. The 4th estate long since uttered its death rattle.
