Dial settings for privilege

The "difficulty settings for life" i.e. privilege, are a big "macro" knob which establishes gross position and a small "micro" knob which determines subtle differences between each increment of the macro knob. Each dial numbered one thru ten. The macro knob is economic condition, and the micro knob is everything else (race, gender, sexual identity). Each detent of the big dial from setting two to setting three (for instance), renders irrelevant the fine-tuning influence of the micro knob.

We should spend less time beating one another up over our respective places on the small dial.
