The fight is not over yet for the LBGTQI+ community

The Supreme Court Decision was a HUGE step ahead. On the other hand, it didn't fix everything that was and is broken.

Public opinion has also been swayed- the RW is losing ground and voice on matters of "morality" (why did we EVER let them own that discussion, btw?) and more people are open to a wider world. On the other hand, the people who were not swayed are just as angry about losing the ball as you would expect them to be.

The next step is equal rights for everyone. The ERA was stolen from the Women's rights movement, but maybe we can get that back and push it further.

I know that idea scares people, even here...maybe especially here? We have momentum- the world didn't end when women got the vote, when African Americans were allowed to attend school, when MJ was re-legalized in a few states or when abortion rights were affirmed...despite all the doom conservatives predicted.

Being able to get married shouldn't have consequences such as losing your job over a wedding announcement in the paper. Legal protections need to be put into place.

Right now its haphazard and inconsistent, with some localities and States having such laws, and others having the exact opposite, empowering employers and business to discriminate against LGBT people.
