MANCHESTER, N.H. —First responders in Manchester said they may have detected the first sign of a form of heroin that eats away the flesh of users.

"With someone who is literally rotting away in front of you," he said. "It turns the stomach of even the most seasoned provider."

So far, Krokodil has only been a problem in Europe and in the southwest United States. Officials said that instead of cutting or mixing heroin with the painkiller fentanyl, dealers use cheaper alternatives.

"A lot of times, it's cut with something like gasoline or the ground-up red phosphorus from the tips of matches or drain cleaner," Hickey said.

It's not the heroin, it's the garbage it's cut with. Just like the garbage used to cut most other drugs.

Or the stuff that's sold as heroin that is anything but, like that Russian shit.

But it takes A LOT LESS heroin than water to kill you.

I'm sorry, you are not going to convince me recreational use of heroin is a good thing just by pointing out that other things can kill you as well.

Treatment for users, hard time for traffickers. Sorry, but I am never going to cry about heroin, meth, or cocaine kingpins going to jail until their life is almost over.
