That issue was blown way out of proportion. Regular listeners such as I know that she's one of the most balanced and fair media people that we can ever hope to hear.

I do not know if she is an anti-Semite as many have suggested. Her failure to fact check is not total evidence of anti-Semitism but if it isn't that then she knew the information was divisive and as such could be useful sensationalism. You are correct that she is usually balanced and public radio and public television usually engage in this behavior less than corporate news providers. That being said, public media must compete with those 6 corporations. They rely on public support so therefore at some point it becomes necessary for them to engage in the same dishonorable behavior. It lacks integrity. She devolved to that level and she lost my respect because of it. The media in this country is completely corrupted by corporate greed and few people seem to realize it is happening. The exploitation of the American people that happens daily is as destructive as an out of control and exploitive financial industry. As I said in another comment, there are decent and honorable journalists still in this country but their employers have been corrupted by special interest and corporate greed.

Do not care for Rehm. In the prior segment about the stock market she kept trying to stir the pot asking if China might be behind the NYSE's computer problems. Each guest said highly doubtful. She kept at it until she finally got one to admit that "anything is possible" which apparently satisfied her as she quit asking from that point. Additionally, there was her Sen. Sanders interview in which she asked about his non-existent dual citizenship with Israel. She acts as if she's naive but I firmly believe she knows exactly what she's doing. I turn off NPR when she comes on now which is for 2 hours in my city. Too painful to listen to her.

I heard that segment about the Chinese stock market. I believe that what she did was a technique that she uses to get her experts to commit themselves regarding some rumor that is "out there." Notice that most of her experts dismissed the rumor. Mission accomplished.

I think that another proof of the respect with which many people hold her is the quality of the guests who choose to be featured on her program.

As is obvious, I am her fan.

After the Sanders interview. I do not know if she is an anti-Semite as many have suggested. Some have argued that her fail to fact check is proof because she wanted it to be true. I think it entirely plausible that she failed to fact check because she knew that information could be divisive and as such allow for sensationalism. My biggest criticism with the American news media is its perpetual use of sensationalism as a means to generate revenue. Public radio and television are not immune though they engage in that behavior less. Still, they must compete with the 6 major corporations that own more than 90% of all news media providers in the US. I know there are honorable and decent journalists but journalism in general has been corrupted by corporate greed and special interest.
