So who or what will be our next Republican presidential candidate's "secret weapon'?

Ya'll remember Mitt Romney's? Well, I'm not limiting this just to the candidate's wife. It could be his kids, or his Dad or Mom (and it most likely will be "his" and not "hers" on their side). Maybe the family dog. Or maybe his faith and good works. Or maybe the warm glow of his sense of humor.

I'm going with sense of humor. Dry wit. Accompanied by a cute smile.

Any ideas out there?

every time that Wisconsin lie is told, the media is quick to point out how it's not. It's just to plain and obvious...and painful for Walker. Good.

from Mexico.

If JEB can't get at least 35% of the Latino vote he doesn't stand a chance. That is why the (R) machine is behind him. He has a better shot than pretty much any other (R) out there. Even the candidates with Cuban heritage can't top being married to an immigrant from Mexico.

I think JEB is another Mitt. Neither uses his real first name. Both from political families. Both former Governors. Both seen as moderate, compared to the rest of their party. Both the pick of the (R) political machine. Etc. etc. etc..

I also think he will lose just as badly as Mitt, but only time will tell.

his Hispanic wife. We actually try to pick the best person. I been watching to some of the local Spanish TV stations and there is a lot of propaganda being thrown out. I think our Democrats need to reach out and let the Spanish American voters know that they are voting against their own best interests voting for any Republican.

W. spoke Spanish and he got pretty good numbers from that Demographic (35% & 44%).

I also think that a Latina as First Lady is a pretty powerful image. I don't doubt that people (no matter the ethnicity) will vote for who they think is the best person. If the (D) nominee can't convince Hispanics that he/she is going to produce some results for them then they may swing to the imagery of a First Lady who they can relate to.

Just here on DU, sure there are the Hillary supporters who are women and want a woman President, but many more of the women are not supporting Hillary and I think most of us who supported Obama were not all African American.

Jeb's Super Pac has $103 million.
For comparason, Hillary has $45 million.
And he speaks fluent Spanish, but even that's not going to help him win the minority voters.
It will be his shtick however.

of Florida when Jeb was governor?

I remember how badly Teresa Kerry went over with voters in 2004 and wondered at the time if it was just her personality or if voters didn't like the idea of her being First Lady because she was foreign born.
