my greece solution. kick germany out of the euro

it seems like its the germans who are blocking any restructuring of greece's debt.

they are trying to put up roadblocks to prevent a writedown.
kick germany out of teh euro. make them go back to the dmark. when the dmark soars and germany cant export anything its them that will suffer.
right now germany is running a huge current account surplus because they are hoarding cash, relying on a weak euro to help them export.

its time for them to pay the piper.

The fact is Greece needs Germany. I doubt Germany needs Greece.

Why doesn't Greece exit the EU, and issue their own currency.

The Danes I worked with said they would join the EU, but would not switch to the Euro, because they did not want Germany to be in charge of their money. And that is how Denmark voted.

was stolen a few years later, so can't check for sure. So maybe this was 1996 or 1997 at the latest. I was teaching computer operators how to use a software package, and we had great conversations at lunch and on breaks.

I had been working in Arhuis, and my boyfriend at the time flew over and we spent a couple of days in Copenhagen, and we walked past a polling place or important government office in the evening, big sweeping steps, going back to the hotel, from a restaurant.
There were about 6-8 people waving signs around, and about twice as many reporters hovering around them. Big CNN van with a dish or whatever. Maybe twenty people altogether. At most. Supposedly an EU-related issue.

Back to our room, turned on CNN International to see what was going on. CNN had the cameras in real tight to the few demonstraors, and proclaimed that LIVE - HUGE demonstration against the EU!!!!!!!
Never believed a damn thing on CNN ever again.

either Google him or get his NYT column (there's one tomorrow). He's got the liberal response on this issue. He has questioned the wisdom of the Euro since way back, since it prevents countries from borrowing in their own currency. It's a big problem.

I like your analysis of the German policy regarding the Euro...
