I have a terrible admission to make here...

No...I'm not an eleven-year troll on this site. No, I didn't vote for Nixon once. No, everything I've posted here is true to my knowledge and beliefs...

My child's first word which she read out loud was "Trump".

My mother of blessed memory lived down in the Atlantic City area in Ventnor Heights. One day when my kid was almost 2, we were driving down the Atlantic City Expressway and intended to exit at Exit 2 which leads to Route 40/322...BUT there was an accident on the ramp so we were forced to take the road into Atlantic City. There, at the base of the expressway was Trump Plaza with the trademark huge sign on the side of the building. My kid, who knew the alphabet well by that time saw the sign and proclaimed "Trump!!"

I almost lost control of the car. I asked my wife, "That ever happen before today?" Her glum response, "No. It hasn't."

And so it began..."it" being my political education of my child, all the while knowing the secret of that day.

Hers, at least, can be written off as completely innocent; the action of a toddler.

people seem to be taking comments in ... running them through their filter ... allowed the words to bounce around in their heads ... they responding to what they think the other person was implying ... between the lines.

It's funny...in 11 years I don't think I've alerted on 10 posts. I have to be sputteringly angry to do that....and that takes a lot AFAIC.

Keep the Faith!

(French for chatterbox), while she wailed upon him for teasing her, only she did not say bavard.

Mom pokes her head around the corner and says "Okay, stop teaching her French!" and we all broke out laughing.

According to my mother. Apparently, she burned herself while ironing, yelped "shit!," and then had to listen to me saying "shit, shit, shit," for a while.

Kind of hard to believe that I didn't try mama or dada before, though.

returning home, at giving birth to me.

She got home and my sister was playing with some block. She'd stack them up as high as she could get them and when they toppled over, she'd stand up, throw up her hands in sheer disgust, stomp her foot and say, "sh!t" ... loudly!

Mama 1SBM was aghast.

Turns out my sister spent the day before watch Daddy 1SBM "fixing" our washing machine.

Not as embarrassing as having one's own child's first word being Trump, but close.[/font]

Clear as a bell and bright as day.

First time she put letters together out loud. Almost crashed the car, too, her mom and I were laughing so hard.

She was probably a little older, around 3, but she was reading by age 4.

Can't think of a prouder moment, helping a child read.

Congratulations on being a father, PCIntern!
