Revolution from the south's perspective at the time. There is no question that England viewed the colonies' independence as an act of treason.

The whole issue centers around the question is it illegal for a state to secede from the union. The Supreme Court has ruled it is unConstitutional, and since all states, Northern and Southern signed onto the United States, and agreed to the Constitution, it follows that it is definitely a violation of the Constitution. Is that considered treason?

It represents racism, and the attempt to destroy the United States.

There is NOT one thing that I said about it representing "heritage", and the North was far from clean in regard to racism

My paternal ancestors had a good life; a 135 acre farm (no slaves needed, they tended to it themselves). When the war started, the men went to join the Union army.

Their farm was in Gettysburg, and ended up right smack in the center of the battle of Little Round Top. When the Confederate soldiers moved in, my family fled with nothing but the clothes on their backs - they even left food on the table. The house was used first by the Confederates, and then the Union army after they drove the Confederates out.

When it was all over and my family returned, everything they had was gone; there were over a hundred dead horses littering the fields. They petitioned the government for damages but never received it so they took what was left, sold the farm for 4.5k to the government, and moved north.

Their lives were destroyed by the treasonous Confederates. That hideous flag is a symbol of hate; slavery and treason are part of it.

I get so aggravated to listen to some politicians drone on about it representing their heritage..And then to have the congress try and slip that amendment through yesterday buried in another bill that would allow the Confederate flag on Federal grounds almost made me ill..

With the exception being that we have added stars to their banner.
