We're calling Walmart out on its misleading public relations push.
Welp, they're at it again!
Walmart kicks off its annual U.S. Manufacturing Summit in Arkansas on Tuesday, highlighting "progress" in its 10-year commitment to purchase $250 billion in American-made goods. For the second year in a row, the retail giant has unveiled a handy infographic touting the progress its made thus far.
And just like last year, we decided to take their infographic and add some much needed context. See, when you start to dig just a little bit, you find that Walmart's committment is pretty misleading.

(17,997 posts)They are trying to change their image and are succeeding, based on lies. Nothing has changed. Increase in pay still doesn't create a living wage and they are charging, at their profit, employees for their uniforms.
Same Walmart with a new bow made of smoke

(23,105 posts)Don't think they have any redeeming qualities. My family, as a point of pride, refuses to EVER shop there. Can't contribute one dime to Walmart's bottom line.

(15,115 posts)I never shop at Walmart. No wait. I bought a toaster oven there in 1992. Mea Culpa.
It's just obscene what that family has done. And pretending that they are buying American made products is sick. From what I understand, Sam started the company selling ONLY US made products and he used it as an advertising ploy.
