That's a big change. Heck for decades I went to record stores on Tuesdays to see the new releases. Hoyt Jul 2015 #2

when I was in my local Newbury Comics. I don't buy music much at all anymore and certainly not on release day. But I was curious as to the reason for the switch.

I distrust the RIAA more than most anything else, but the actual sense of it works with regards to a more coherent single day system due to the international aspect of it. But I also agree that Friday's suck because A) you lose that midweek hardcore group coming in and B) you can't restock quickly for the weekend.

Even stood in lines of one to get new releases by the likes of the Gene Clark, Flying Burrito Brothers, Steve Earle, Jimi Hendrix, CrosbyStills&Nash, etc.

I think the closest thing to a new artist CD I've bought in the last 10 years is some Ben Harper. I have bought some downloads from new groups.

Nowadays, it's just easier to check them out on-line. But I miss Tower Records, and browsing Peaches Records on Peachtree Street in Atlanta at Midnight in the 1970s.

Oh well, them were the days.
