Is Bill Cosby a Predatory Somnophiliac?

https://www.yahoo.com/health/is-bill-cosby-a-predatory-somnophiliac-123640068647.html

“Although some of the women engaged in consensual relations with Cosby, their accounts substantiated the defendant’s alleged predilection for somnophilia,” Troiani wrote in her motion....

Somnophilia is a clinically diagnosable fetish in which a person is sexually aroused by a partner who is asleep or unconscious. “It’s also known as the ‘Sleeping Beauty fetish,’” sex therapist and best-selling author Ian Kerner, PhD, who has treated somnophiliacs, tells Yahoo Health.

(Somnophilia shouldn’t be confused with sexsomnia — or sleep sex— where a person acts out sexual behaviors while in an unconscious sleep state.)...

“If the act of somnophilia involves harm to self or others (lack of consent, for instance) and/or impairs the person’s ability to live, it is considered a disorder and not a mere sexual/arousal orientation,” clinical sexologist Kat Van Kirk, PhD, explains to Yahoo Health.

There are professionals who can be paid to fulfill a fetish. People who dope women and fuck them without their consent are rapists. He's fucking lucky he didn't kill any of them, and personally, I think they should check a few mysterious ODs and make sure he wasn't around at the time.

I've been so skeeved out by this whole thing, it never even occurred to me that some of his victims could very well have not even survived his amateur pharmacy. Holy shit.

Who in the hell would ever want to have sex with a nonresponsive person? That's not a fetish. That's just plain fucked up.

As for the control freak part? The young woman who he raped and who was willing to settle for having her tuition paid was told by Cosby the GPA she would have to maintain for him to keep his end of the bargain.

You notice he sets the terms and conditions every step of the way (starting with drugging her drink without her consent) and ensures she will feel the shame and humiliation of having no control over her own existence. He's in control, period.

The more I hear, the worse he looks.

All sorts of people like all sorts of kink and do it safely and consensually.

Any fetish he had/has is irrelevant and invites guilt by association.

This guy is a fucking rapist. End of story.

So there might be something to this. He can be both a rapist and also have this fetish.

just from what I've heard of this
(and I've heard more than I ever wanted to know),
is that his primary motivation was to enable him to have sex with these women through their loss of ability to resist because of the drugs...
NOT that he specifically desired them to be unconscious or appear so while he had sex with them.

So it would appear that "Somnophilia" would not apply here.

I am very saddened and disappointed by all this. When it first started to come out, I refused to believe it. Sickening.

So there may be something to this claim.

From this article:

Sandy never grew her hair. She was not motivated by money. But she did come to me one morning a year later to tell me that something bad had happened. Bill had drugged her. She was not angry. She was baffled, stunned, even shaken by the experience. Plus, she felt betrayed.

“Bill drugged me last night, and then had sex with me,” Sandy confided. “I just don’t understand it. It’s not like I would have said no to anything.”

He had given her two pills and said, “These will relax you.” She trusted him and swallowed them. She figured they were vitamins or herbal medicine. They did not relax her; they flat-out knocked her unconscious.

“He didn’t need to do it,” she repeated. “I just don’t understand why.”
