Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) 22 dogs and one cat found in extremely poor health all expected to make full recoveries, said the Broome County Humane Society on Friday. But it will take a lot of time, work and love.
The Humane Society in Binghamton took in the animals Thursday and immediately began to treat them. They were rescued Wednesday from the basement of a home on Beckwith Avenue in the Town of Union.
"Right now, we just need to make sure that they are getting special feeding, care and vet attention for all the medical needs they're going to have and just working on recovery," said Laurie Hubik, shelter manager. "And then we will be looking for homes for them as soon as we possibly can start showing them,"
Food, cleaning material, along with many other items, have been donated by the public.
