Basically this means (to me) as much as I am sickened, completely, by rank and file teaparty asshole morons, they are the wrong ones to blame for the total shit-storm we all have to endure.
The oppression is being done by anyone with large sums of money who isnt working day and night to reverse the horrific situation we are in with capitalism run amok.
This includes liberals as well as cons.
Money and greed seems to fuck people up and at the end of the day attacking the people doing all this harm wont resolve it either, we have to attack the sick and broken system at the core, capitalism.
Not sure how, but everything we know about the way we do things now, has to change.

(14,175 posts)ie..progressive, left of center, and believes that the economy and society as a whole are better off when everyone has a fair shot, and the disadvantaged and poor are lifted up to a degree to help make that happen with a progressive taxing system, I don't know if you can lump them in with "cons".
But I understand where you are coming from.
I took that statement as a chilling example of what we hear on Fox News and many Republicans, and a few DINOs. That its the "47%" who are the problem. Blaming the "lazy poor", or the illegal (rapey) immigrants. And at the same time they and all media glorify families like the Kardashians as American royalty. Donald Trump has his own reality tv show. The Koch Brothers literally buy election ridings and no one hardly bats an eye. Being wealthy has been twisted to mean you are a great American and have fulfilled your mission. The wealthier you are, the more American you are and the greater deference we all should give you.

(5,178 posts)Sadly, it isn't just the ones with large amounts of money.
That is to say, they don't become people (or thanks to CU even "people" with large amounts of money alone. They can't commit atrocities alone. Hard to commit big crimes alone. You gotta have a lookout and a getaway driver.
Many hands are on deck and many eyes are willing to look the other way, many mouths to remain closed and many ears oblivious to the wails of the world around them in return for a little security for themselves at the expense of it for the many.
This occurs and has occurred a little bit here and a little bit there each second of each day of each decade. And while alone they may not seem to matter much, when you start collecting drips, if you never empty the pans, you may eventually find yourself drowning.
I'm afraid our eventually is now. Can there still be any doubt of the endgame? Can there be more obfuscation of the truth? Only if your name is Jeb, only if your financial backers are legion, only if you care so little about anything your are willing to back anyone.
Doing the same thing and expecting different results is lunacy.
Personally? I think a return to Capitalism would be a good start.
If Adam Smith were transported to today and shown his creation he wouldn't take credit for it. How could he? It isn't the same game anymore.
He would no more recognize it than the inventor of Rugby would call the modern NFL his game. The rules have changed.
What started out as a level playing field has morphed into superstar contracts, mass media propaganda, low blows, late hits and deflated balls.
