An 81-year-old woman was mowing her lawn in South Omaha this week when she was bitten on her arm by a pit bull.

According to an Omaha police incident report, Esther Miodowski was bitten on her left bicep and near her elbow Wednesday about 12:30 p.m. when Duke jumped onto the chain-link fence from his yard next door and struck her.

Miodowski went to an Omaha hospital for stitches, according to a police report, and the Nebraska Humane Society seized the 1-year-old dog for a 10-day observation period.

The Humane Society also cited the dog’s owner, Rogelio Pena-Gallego, 18, for owning a menacing animal and for not having a muzzle, license or proof of a rabies vaccination.

Woman was on her property, when she was bit, and owner thinks it's her fault because she was too close to his fence?
And they are planning to let him keep this dog?
