Some on DU were unable to recognize the contrived nature of the posts and they jumped in with both feet to help a nasty and mean poster shit all over LGBT equality celebrations. For days, well known LGBT DUers attempted to explain to them that they were being duped but several DUers by reflex shit all over those well known posters in order to defend posters that were not even real, not authentic, they were a draw full of stinking socks and many people in our community eagerly shared that stench.

GD has been a much nicer place since that happened.

With GD-P blocked, I only have to go there if I'm on jury duty. And I even turn some of those down if they are too long and contentious. Life is good.

I'm ready to fight for team Democrats because right now I can say I like all 5 of the democratic candidates equally. However should Biden jump in the race I won't be heading over to GDP. Why would I waste time arguing with people whose minds are made up on their candidate of choice? I would just be jumping into the pissing match of 'why my candidate is superior than yours' and in the end even with Joe I still like them all and I still want to like all DUers. So if Joe joins the campaign then I'll spend my time offline helping out where I can make a difference. Anyhow being in DE I'm sure Joe will have a local office here for volunteers to make calls.

I think in the end until the primaries are done GD is the safest for me!

I agree with you about Biden, he would make the race far more interesting. Yes, he's been overly friendly to bankers, but he's also hard working and as honest as any real pol can be.

It's still many months until the first primaries. There's plenty of time to let people who are rabid partisans slug it out in GD-P off my screen before we're presented with whomever the party has chosen.

Right now I'm with Bernie and STILL staying away from the bulk of those threads, pro and con. Biden would be a good fit for me. A combination of Bernie and Biden would be a near PERFECT fit, but, Kerry won't run again. ; )

Anyone know which the new accounts were? And does that mean they also had multiple accounts before the 'flagged for review' (which would have been on July 7th' the ban wasn't until July 10th)?

The last week, more or less there has been a large uptick in the number of posts on DU regarding poly or multiple relationships and the potential for legalization in light of the supreme court decision. I've been sucked in to this debate a few times on the no side, not because I am against anyone creating family relationships with whomever they please, but because it simple legally does not fit with the given legal rights regarding marriage in the US.

This tidal wave of posts along with their accusations of insensitivity, bigotry, etc seemed a bit odd to me. The opinions all seemed a bit similar and fervent. Many good DUers tried to reason with this group of people without success.

So the fresh clean breeze came about over the last couple of days now. No new posts in the top 50. No replies to old posts on the topic. Whereas before there were at least 5-10 new posts per day about the topic, and most were pro poly marriage legalization. What Happened?...two DUmembers that I know of have been banned for making multiple identities TatianaLaBelle and Wella. I do not know if these people were one in the same or if they created more personas. All I know is that since these 2 members were banned it's been much more civil around here.

It's totally cool to have an opinion on DU and to express it. I hope that when people do, others take it as just that, an opinion. Opinions are hard to change. One or two replies is sufficient to voice one's rebuttal, but for god's sake, don't make up people and situations to try to create a constituency.

That's it. That's all I know. Let's all hope this ushers in a new age of civility and shared purpose to kick every goddamn right wing conservative the fuck out of power now, in 2016 and in to perpetuity!!!
