Battle over Confederate flag simmers in Marion County

... The controversy started last month when a Marion County official decided to take the flag down following the shootings at a Charleston, South Carolina, church. Some residents, however, were outraged and spoke out against it ... County leaders then voted to bring it back ... Opponents of the flag are now working to get it taken down for good ... County leaders are working with the Historical Society to create a historic trail where flags will be flown and signs will be posted next to them explaining why they're important. Until it comes together, they plan to keep the flag flying.
