What does Herzog and Livni (Israeli opposition) say about the Iran nuclear deal? (Original Post) bluestateguy Jul 2015 OP
It is irrelevant in more than one way. From the U.S. perspective, this is a deal between the U.S. still_one Jul 2015 #1

along with 6 other nations to prevent nuclear proliferation in Iran. Israel is NOT party to the agreement, though they would like to interject themselves into U.S. politics as they did during the 2012 election. That didn't work out too well for them.

The second point is that Israel elected Netanyahu as their prime minister, so until their is a new election, or he gets a vote of no confidence, it should be assumed that is the position of Israel.

If the opposition dissents with the Israeli government's position to a degree that a change of power would inevitably meana 180 degree change of policy, that would be something to take into account.

the last election he used fear, and made some awful statements how he would never allow the Palestinians have a state while he was prime minister.

My personal belief is that Netanyau has done more damage to Israel the his enemies, and unless labor is able to to take control, Israel will continue to lose credibility

The electoral board complained about his intended radio speech on the day of the election; and remember his speach to Congress?

Netanyahu.

The problem with the arguments they present is exactly what President Obama made very clear what the agreement is, and those against it bring in every other external issue implied as though it should be tied to the deal.

The Iran deal is specifically about preventing them from developing and acquiring nuclear weapons. Other issues need to be dealt with separately

Their arguments are a distraction, and a strawman argument, and they are doing more damage to Israel than its enemies could do in my view.
