I think I understand why some folks cling to their Confederate Flag

It's not about "Heritage". If it were about heritage, it would have been flying prominently since the end of the Civil War, but it really just made a comeback in the wake of the 1950's-60's Civil Rights Movement.

What the Confederate Battle Flag has become is "non-verbal" communication for racist white people.

The world was changing, and even though they were sure tempted to put up signs that said "Blacks are not welcome here", or run down the street screaming "N-word, N-word, N-word"...they just couldn't do it, without being shamed, or looked at askance.

For some, that flag became their way of saying "Blacks are not welcome here" without actually having to have those words come out of their mouths.

That flag is nothing but a big, giant, silent N-word and middle finger to minorities. Without it, they are left with only two choices:

- Start verbalizing their racism

or,

- SHUT THE FUCK UP!

No wonder they are trying to maintain their grip on that traitorous flag.

Sometimes it seems only other dog packs and their prey can hear and see it.

Everyone else feigns deafness and blindness especially when they aren't on the menu.
