Lawmakers push to remove Confederate flag from license plates (MD)

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Maryland license plates bearing the Confederate flag could soon be recalled. The Attorney General's office says legislation is not need to do so, but there is one hurdle that must be cleared. Assistant Attorney General Kathryn Rowe says the Maryland Department of Transportation and the Motor Vehicle Administration have the right to recall confederate plates issued after October 18, 1999, but to recall those issued prior an injunction must be vacated.
