The McNeil/Lehrer Report, or whatever it's called now, has apparently committed to interviewing ALL the Repub candidates in some depth. Understandable, at some point; but this means a substantial portion of each program is devoted to the avid repetition of Repub talking points -- over and over, night after night, by candidate after candidate -- with no proportionate counterpoint from the left.
This is just one of many strategic gains enjoyed by Repubs from having so many candidates in the race.
How can this be countered?

(45,806 posts)I realize they HAVE to agree on some issues, but the deal is you must distinguish yourself from all the others or you'll slide down the drain with all the other "me too" candidates.

However, I will point out that the Groper's overload of the media will only contribute to the Right-wing fatigue which is already being noticed by many and is working against their candidates. People (especially Independents) are asking themselves if they want to listen to 4 or more years of this buffoonery after the last 6 or 8.

(10,530 posts)I can tell you that in my part of the world, the Repub talking points sound just fine to most people; and the lack of any effective counter-point from the left hurts.
(Fwiw, I live in a relatively liberal enclave south the Mason-Dixon.)
