Fayetteville NAACP urges city to stop using Market House logo

After a Fayetteville black lawyer raised the issue Tuesday - following the Charleston, South Carolina, shootings and the uproar over the Confederate flag in the South Carolina capital - the City Council is set to consider the issue at its Aug. 1 work session. Councilmen Chalmers McDougald and Larry Wright said this week the Market House is offensive to them and many black residents.

A plaque, which the council approved in 1990, says slaves were sold at the location of the Market House, which was rebuilt in early 1830s following the Great Fire of 1831 ...

Its an important building to the city, its where the US constitution was ratified for that state.

Next we can tear down the white house, since it was likely built with slave labor.
