(33,688 posts)on the Court is boundless. One of the staunchest liberals in the history of the SCOTUS.

(18,124 posts)is astounding. I know of what I speak, you don't. Period. Go do some research, I have, and then return. Just like Truman who desegregated the military, he was a bigot underneath. He was affiliated and had a membership with the KKK and while he may not have taken part in any lynchings or murders or night riding black church burning, he's is tainted by his membership in that organization. No matter his later rulings on strictly constitutional grounds. Which was not bad. He put's the bigots we have openly ruling now on the supreme court to shame but no altruism was involved in his fairness. Just the law. I will never forgive a KKK member.

It seems Justice Black was BOTH a liberal and a bigot, and both of those categories are not simple and cut-and-dried.

(18,124 posts)is cut and dried. Years of living with it has schooled me well. But thank you anyway. And I've studied the SCOTUS intensively since pappy Bush put that clown on the Supreme Court after a true champion of civil and human rights, Thurgood Marshall, died. Thanks again.
