Leave Donald Trump alone

He's harnessing the hate and bile of small part of the US electorate and causing a ton of static for the established gop. The only thing that would be better for us as Dems and a country, would be if he gets kicked out of the gop and decides to run as an independent and takes half the repukes with him.

He's actively making 2016 easier for whomever the democratic nominee happens to be.

As long as he is on the front pages, a Hillary pantsuit joke or a Bernie hair joke is not.

He's shearing apart our competition. Leave him be, hell encourage him if you live in an open primary state.

Oh Please God, Let Donald Trump Keep Talking
http://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/oh-please-god-let-donald-trump-keep-talking

Donald Trump and I are having a great week.

In his case, it’s because likely Republican voters have weighed in, and they heart The Donald. He was already in second place with Republicans in Iowa and New Hampshire, and a recent Reuters poll placed him in a dead heat with rival Jeb Bush. Now another survey, released Tuesday by USA Today, actually shows him leading Bush, 14 percent to 17 percent. A majority of Republicans, nearly 60 percent, say they have a favorable view of Trump, which is very nearly a complete turnaround from as recently as May. The whole thing — by which I mean having an overt racist take the lead because there is nothing your base loves more than an overt racist — has pretty much turned the Republican presidential race from a mere carnival of sadness into a shitshow of epic proportions.

And this, as you may already have guessed, is why I am having such a fanfuckingtastic week...

But all the Tea Party
And all old White men
Couldn't come up with enough votes to win.

Trump for now is an umbrella for negative attention that would otherwise be dinging Scott Walker, Jeb, Rubio etc.

The PTB can use Trump for now to shield the other guys, then take him down later closer to the primaries.

the gop cross the line a long time ago - especially having stolen an election in 2000.

comments about McCain are nothing in this context and that line was cross with the swiftboating of john Kerry.

Not that the right watches her, but I'm sure Fox "news" is monitoring her. We should be screaming that he's the worst thing to come along for the Democrats ever.

the disdain of the left forces the rightwing forces to rally around the flag as it were. If we stop attack Trump they stop defending him. Trump knows this too, so if you actually think keeping this guy viable is a good call, then we should keep doing what we are doing.

Trump will be nowhere to be found in the proceedings.

He's nothing more than an RNC tool who will have outlived his usefulness long before then.

and vowing never again to post in another trump thread or any "please caption this crazy person saying crazy things" thread, I have to say....well said.

Taking all of the oxygen out of the room and setting the GOP hospitality suite on fire leaves less oxygen for cable not news and RW not fascist at all news to get their propaganda in edgewise.

Mocking well deserved is, to me, a higher form of free speech than merely reporting on the free speech, especially the crazy free speech.

Jon Stewart made a good living understanding that.

25. My theory...
Mon Jul 20, 2015, 01:17 PM
Jul 2015

Just a sec while I adjust my tin foil hat....

..is that the GOP equivalent of the DLC has set this up and specifically told The Don that the best way to serve his country (and his pocket book) is to a help get a Republican in the White House. And the only way to give the front runner Jeb any traction against the behemoth Hillary and to make people forget about his own families miserable failures in office and to make him look like a SANE choice is to have someone sounding INSANE to run against him. They told the Don to run, and then to go out there and say whatever popped into his head, the more extreme the better.

Jeb will look downright statesmanlike next to Trump. When Jeb emerges as the winner, it will be hailed in the corporate press as a victory for moderatism in the Republican Party. With Tea Baggers, bigots, and racists whining on one side about Jebs win, and the left whining on the other about the Bush legacy, Jeb will be marketed as the experienced safe secure family based choice. And they are betting this will carry over in the general once this meme is established.

And it just may work

He is a legitimate GOP candidate and should be treated as such. Yep, let him run his course. They made this monster, let them deal with it.
