WOW. MSNBC replacing Ed Schultz with Schmuck Fraud?

MSNBC, although keeping its evening left-wing opinion shows, will replace The Cycle, Now with Alex Wagner, and...The Ed Show (3-6pm ET) with a generic news show from 3-5 with a host TBD, then Chuck Todd at 5, reports Mediaite. Apparently, Big Ed had to have it coming for daring to report on TPP and standing up for working Americans.

I hope they'll move Ed to the evenings.

How liberal of them...

I enjoy Alex...the Cycle has gotten a little shallow, Ed is about the only one with any interest in issues
affecting the working classes....

So now, I don't have to tune in to MSNBC in the afternoon.
Tweety...well, what's with that ad about the Supreme Court "understanding" American values...he's all poetic about the gay marriage thing, the healthcare ruling...but he seems to forget what the SC has done to voting rights, etc. etc.

Seems like we won't have that much "liberal" talk to listen to anymore on MSNBC!

"Only The Ed Show Devoted Significant Coverage To The TPP. During the same 18-month period, CNN and Fox News each mentioned the TPP during two broadcasts. MSNBC's The Ed Show discussed the trade agreement on 71 broadcasts, but the TPP was mentioned on the network's other evening programming only twice (once by host Ed Schultz during coverage of the president's State of the Union speech and a passing mention by All In host Chris Hayes)."

http://mediamatters.org/research/2015/02/04/study-tv-news-shows-largely-ignore-historic-tra/202403j

Ed was just about the only one to address the TPP for a very, very long time. He did give it visibility quite a bit, but no one else really did over time (even at MSNBC).

This was over an 18-month period ending 1/31/15. Not sure if there's updated information that covers through the passage of Fast Track.

8 pm Eastern is on at 5 pm Pacific. Many other cable outlets have more than one feed, so 8 pm is 8pm, prime time is prime time. People understandably see the slot as it relates to where they live, but with MSNBC a great time slot for me is a bad one for the other region. Here, Ed is 2 pm, Al is 3 pm. By the time the West is in 'prime time' the East is going to bed, watching late night talk and that sort of thing.

This makes it harder for MSNBC to eek out the numbers.

Even though they declared her cancer free in 2013, ovarian cancer is one of those cancers that often returns. It's rarely discovered in Stage 1. Stage 2 & 3's 5 year survival rates are 75% and 50% respectively. I certainly hope she is still cancer free, but having lost a close friend to this, I'm concerned.

Ed still has his radio show.

Will save me a whole slew of money.

They are probably upset about a few things Ed has done. His support of the protestors in WI, his support of Bernie, he has blown up a couple of times when he was forced to have some R talking head on and they did nothing but lie.

They want to go to a regular news programing then they need to find themselves a Walter Cronkite and they do not have one. Chuck Toad?

when Walker began his attack on us, and he is still a solid ally. He even switched his allegiance to the Packers because they are publicly owned. He has fought everyday for years in support of American workers. He may be a bit rough around the edges, but he's the real deal and he's the only reason I turn on MSNBC during the daytime. I must admit I like Alex and Thomas Roberts too, but I don't specifically turn them on like I do for Ed.

I cannot stomach Chuck Todd and will not watch a minute of his show. I do hope they keep Ed on somewhere in a slot that he enjoys. He almost single-handedly let people know what Walker and his mafia were doing in Wisconsin and I feel a need to support him.

He also supported the Keystone pipeline until people like me started squawking. He did some research and came back vehemently against it and could clearly explain why.

Finally, he has been against TPP with the same gusto, going to the mat for workers and unions, which he argues TPP would hurt.
He's a good man.
