Watch party planned for upcoming Republican presidential candidate debate in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Several local civic organizations are teaming up to host a watch party for the upcoming Republican presidential debate in Cleveland.
The watch party is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6 at the City Club of Cleveland, 850 Euclid Avenue.
The event, which is being organized by the Cleveland Young Professional Senate along with the Cleveland Foundation, ideastream and the City Club, will feature an 8 p.m. panel discussion that will include:
Karen Beckwith, chair of the Political Science Department at Case Western Reserve University
John C. Green, director, Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics, The University of Akron
Jakiel Sanders, chair of governmental affairs, Cleveland Young Professional Senate
The debate itself is scheduled for 9 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena. It will feature the GOP candidates who rank in the top 10 in an average of national polls, a criteria developed by Fox News, which will televise and moderate the event.
