Every time one of these Big Game hunters does something that reaches the national news level, there is an uproar. Trump's sons were involved in one a few years ago. But then it dies down.

Unfortunately, there is a social group of hunters who love this stuff. They don't care if they are hated.

but maybe I'm not paying close enough attention. The worldwide viral response to Cecil seems remarkable to me.

I think in this case the outrage is multiplied by both the manner in which the animal was tricked to leave a sanctuary and the length of time they let it suffer before finally killing it. Even most hunters are sickened by that last aspect.

Trophy hunting in these times is bad enough, but illegal trophy hunting makes it so much worse, and the more we find out about this particular
Romney supporter....convicted felon,(1) and accused sexual predator,(2) the uglier his dirty deed looks.

1. settled out of court an accusation he molested his female employee when he had her in the dental chair.

2. Was convicted and fined for killing a bear inside a protected area, he lied, about knowing it was a protected animal,claiming he killed it outside the park.


Which may explain why he had Cecil lured out of the Zimbabwe park, having learned from that bear conviction.

Just awful....

Thanks for posting it.

Trophy hunters kill just for the thrill of killing. There is no other purpose. They aren't feeding their families. They aren't defending their community. It's not even for population control. They're just killing for fun. It's offensive and frankly kind of disturbing. I'm glad people are saying it's time to ban the practice.

I can only hope & pray he gets extradited.
