Inflation high gas prices a brutal primary fight with Ted Kennedy and the nail in the coffin was the Iranian hostages I'm 56 years old and remember that election as a youngster.So no there was no tampering.The only tampering was the Iranian hostage crisis.Remember there was voter suppression back then

except, of course, for that little "arms-for-hostages" deal that the Reagan people worked out with the Ayatollah Khomeini to make sure the embassy hostages were not released until after the election.

made a secret agreement with the Iranians, so the Iranians waited till after the election to release the hostages.

It was also a crooked set up by the Republicans. Reagan and his fellow co-conspirators negotiated with Iran to withhold the freeing of the hostages until after the election.

This is a party based on crime, conspiracy, fear mongering, racism, and contempt for the American people, and more. What continues to be truly remarkable is that 50% of the country buy into the utter devastation that they have caused over the past 30-plus years.
