Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said he still doesn't know whether Barack Obama is Christian, months after a spokesperson had to clarify that the governor wasn't casting doubt on the President's faith.
The Republican presidential candidate said "I don't know" whether Obama is Christian during a Q&A on Saturday in front of GOP donors hosted by billionaires Charles and David Koch, according to Time.
Youre not going to get a different answer than I said before, Walker added, as quoted by Time. As someone who is a believer myself, I dont presume to know someones beliefs about whether they follow Christ or not unless Ive actually talked with him.
The Wisconsin Republican was first asked about Obama's faith in February, after he attended a private dinner where former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) courted controversy by asserting that the President doesn't love America. A spokeswoman for Walker later told The Washington Post that Walker was making a point about the press' "gotcha" questions, adding "of course the governor thinks the president is a Christian."

(6,719 posts)about the rights of all citizens to vote. I would like to know if he has 'thought' about the fact that he needs an educated population with jobs to pay all his retirement benefits. I wonder if he has 'thought' about the reasons the state of Minnesota next door is doing so well compared to his state.

(145,321 posts)The GOP has been consistent in their efforts to make President Obama seem like an outsider and not one of "us". This is just a more subtle way of being a birther

(37,748 posts)"You don't believe that Senator Obama's a Muslim?" Kroft asked Sen. Clinton. "Of course not. I mean, that, you know, there is no basis for that. I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn't any reason to doubt that," she replied...

(11,101 posts)But it was a less than artful response and she took some heat for it at the time. It was a great answer until she threw in the unnecessary qualifier "As far as I know" at the end. I'm sure if she had it to do over again she wouldn't have said that.
