Wing-nut conspiracy theorists have done it again: The truth about the Planned Parenthood hoax revealedProbes into alleged for-profit organ harvesting have turned up exactly nothing. So why won't the right take a hint?

If youve been keeping score at home, youll have noticed that not one but two states, including a red state with a paleoconservative governor, have in the past several days exonerated Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing in the so-called secret-video sting that has conservatives calling on Congress to defund the non-profit organization. The appropriate response to this news is, Of course! Because Planned Parenthood is absolutely not selling fetus parts via some sort of grisly underground marketplace. For many, especially on the right, no amount of fact-checking will never be enough. But for the sake of the public record, lets review those exonerating reports again here.
Last week, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey became the latest in whats sure to be a long list of state attorneys general to conclude the same thing. Specifically, Healy concluded,
Over the past week, my office has conducted a thorough review and found that Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts health care centers are fully compliant with state and federal laws regarding the disposition of fetal tissue. Although donation of fetal tissue is permissible under state and federal law, PPLM does not have a tissue donation program. There is no evidence that PPLM is involved in any way in the buying or selling of tissue. As such, our review is complete.
Sure, Massachusetts is a leftward-leaning state, but Indiana is very much not. Back on July 16, Gov. Mike Pence, R-Ind., launched an investigation of Planned Parenthood following the release of what was obviously a doctored and misleading video. The probe focused on facilities in Indianapolis, Bloomington and Merrillville, and this past week the Indiana Department of Health reported it was unable to find any non-compliance with state regulations. Therefore, no deficiencies were cited.
Because of course.

(101,321 posts)... the "this is disturbing" BS, such as, sadly, Hillary Clinton:
Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton weighed in Tuesday on recent videos showing a Planned Parenthood employee discussing the donation of aborted fetal tissue to biomedical research, saying the videos are "disturbing" - but people shouldn't rush to condemn Planned Parenthood because of them.
"I have seen pictures from them and obviously find them disturbing," Clinton told the New Hampshire Union Leader in an interview.

See? They've won this round. Although she went on to defend PP, as soon as she said she found the videos 'disturbing', she allowed the window to move to the right. If the leading female Democrat is saying the videos are disturbing, they get to say "of course they're disturbing, and we have the right to question what PP does". That stops them looking like extremists. They get to spout more misogynistic crap.

(13,870 posts)They make a big media splash with a lie and most American's only follow it that far. It's been their Rovian strategy for years. It really should be called propaganda.

I guess Republicans miss the good old days of abortion clinic bombings.

(23,946 posts)"Propaganda" seems to be a word the mass media seems to get stuck in their throats every time they attempt to mention the truth about propaganda.
These politically driven fact-free "investigations" will turn up nothing and the media will say nothing about it.
'Pro-birth, Anti-baby' are what the hilariously self-mislabelled "pro-lifers" really are.

2. Obamacare- killing jobs and destroying the healthcare system
3. Iran Deal- making it "easier" for Iran to get a nuclear weapon
4. Planned Parenthood- selling "baby parts"
No matter what the facts are, no matter the fact that there is zero evidence to support any of their wild claims, the right-wing NEVER backs down on any of them and continues to endlessly flog them for donations, votes, etc. Since the 1990's, in fact, they will endlessly scrutinize and investigate or pick at ANYTHING they think will damage/weaken their opposition whether true or not. They don't pay much, if any, attention to REAL scandals like the entire George W. Bush/Dick Cheney (mis-)Administration- starting with how they managed to be installed in the first place- but they will go after Democrats and left-wing organizations with all of the firepower they can muster and wreak whatever havoc they can.

(1,232 posts)these guys just assume they have the right to legislate what a woman does with her body? And why do we let them regulate our wombs, ovaries and vaginas?
It's time to de-regulate all forms of birth control and keep legislators out of family planning, birth control and Planned Parenthood.
Did all this legislation stem from the same type of mentality that prevented women from voting? Isn't it time to silence all these fools once and for all?

(2,674 posts)The fraudulent videos are just excuse for the Repub's to vote against Planned Parenthood funding. Then they can go back to their districts and throw their RW Christian conservatives a bone. So sad that the politicians are so weak-kneed. The right thing for them to do is denounce the video and say very firmly that they will not be associated with any dishonest, fake news.
