Zucchini, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Jalapeno and Bell Peppers.

Locally grown food, fresh from the truck. That's a good thing. Could be someone who doesn't speak English as a first language.

Like vegetables? Stop and buy some.

They don't care if the grower can spell. I could read the sign just fine, and I'm not into mocking people who clearly are not fluent in English. I do like homegrown veggies, though.

In my area, 80% of the people selling at farmer's markets here are Hmong. Most speak English poorly, since they're older. Their kids speak English with an American accent. If I go to the farmer's market, I pick out what I want, show them to the seller, and hand over my money. The price is on little signs. I can say "Thank you" in Hmong. That's all I need to know.

I dislike this kind of thread where assumptions are made that have no evidence.

It's really, really hard to buy fresh rabbit here in Minnesota in the cities. I'm too far from the farm country to buy dressed rabbits from the local 4-H kid. More's the pity. That's what I used to do. I'd call the kid and ask for a nice frying rabbit. I'd drive by her parents' place a half hour later, and pick it up, freshly dressed and ready for that night's rabbit stew.

The kid raised them and dressed them herself as her 4-H project. There was always a 4-H kid who had fresh rabbits for sale.

I agree. I attended ETSU in Commerce for three semesters and it's a hard place to make a living (even for the literate). Part of me think it's a rural form (tongue-in-cheek) advertising.
