Ring of Fire Radio says BLM is The Black Liberation Army (BLA)

ROF says:

Members of Black Lives Matter (BLM) stormed the podium at a Bernie Sanders rally in Seattle, forcing Bernie from the stage without him being able to address the crowd of thousands who came to hear his message of raising the plight of those struggling in America. No matter how calm and peaceful the crowd was, and no matter what organizers promised in regard to allowing them to speak, BLM simply wanted to commandeer the stage to prevent Bernie’s message from being heard. Why? What is it about Bernie Sanders that threatens BLM more than the present Democratic and Republican leadership? The answer is actually frightening.

BLM likes the status quo, unless the single focus of future equality is centered on black women; and more specifically black, lesbian, women. They like racial tension over a quest for universal growth for all persons struggling, because it gives them power and a voice.

The present Democratic and Republican leadership guarantees continued racial divide by keeping all minorities impoverished and weak, and especially black women. Bernie wants to raise the plight of all minorities and those struggling, at the expense of the upper 1%. He is not solely focused on black women. He wants a society where people truly have opportunity; and where race, religion, sexual orientation, and other differences don’t matter. If Bernie were to succeed in this highly ambitious goal, then BLM would become irrelevant. They would lose their existence, and the three founders are terrified of this. In fact, any time others outside of black, lesbian, women try to help their cause and grow the message, they become infuriated and attack.

If you think Ring of Fire is making this up, all you need to do is read the following writing by Alicia Garza, the co-founder of BLM, which full article is available at A Herstory of the #BlackLivesMatter Movement.

Black Lives Matter is a unique contribution that goes beyond extrajudicial killings of Black people by police and vigilantes. It goes beyond the narrow nationalism that can be prevalent within some Black communities, which merely call on Black people to love Black, live Black and buy Black, keeping straight Black men in the front of the movement while our sisters, queer and trans and disabled folk take up roles in the background or not at all. Black Lives Matter affirms the lives of Black queer and trans folks, disabled folks, Black-undocumented folks, folks with records, women and all Black lives along the gender spectrum. It centers those that have been marginalized within Black liberation movements. It is a tactic to (re)build the Black liberation movement. (As stated in WikiPedia, “The Black Liberation Army (BLA) was an underground, black nationalist militant organization that operated in the United States from 1970 to 1981. Composed largely of former Black Panthers (BPP), the organization’s program was one of ‘armed struggle’, and its stated goal was to ‘take up arms for the liberation and self-determination of black people in the United States.’ The BLA carried out a series of bombings, murders, robberies (what participants termed ‘expropriations’), and prison breaks.)

(PeeEss: Don't lambaste me over what ROF wrote here. I'm just sharing it - not sure what I think of the above myself as yet - but I do think what BLM did at NetRoots and in Seattle was very counterproductive.)

Although it had the opposite effect on Gov, Ronald Reagan in 1969, when this image of members of the Black Panthers protesting at the CA state capitol

scared him into pushing the most restrictive gun ownership laws in the country at the time.

2. Comprehension error. Ring of Fire is comparing two different things.

The black liberation movement is not the Black Liberation Army.

The block quote gives the false impression that Alicia Garza wrote the material about the Black Liberation Army, but the material in parentheses is not from her article. Black Lives Matter had nothing to do with the long-extinct Black Liberation Army.

Seems they were posted by staffers and the radio hosts don't have much editorial control?

to see "rebuilding the Black liberation movement" and go from that to a specific group known as the "Black Liberation Army"; one is not the other. This is really incredibly fucking stupid and offensive and not at ALL helpful.

Shoe...other foot...suck it up. Long time coming imo. This country should have never reached a point in 2015, to where black people have to defend themselves FROM law enforcement. We all know what happens if you are WHITE and of a certain political leaning;

Protester Eric Parker from central Idaho aims his weapon from a bridge next to the Bureau of Land Management's base camp

Those are the exact words from Reuters! PROTESTER! No agenda here...nope...PROTESTER.

Sorry, but I can't get mad at black people simply willing to defend themselves from a predatory society that includes LEO and ABC agencies run by white people for white people.
