Armed members of the New Black Panther Party on Wednesday marched outside of the Waller County Jail in Hempstead, Texas, to protest the arrest and subsequent death of Sandra Bland and what they called other crimes against Black people, reports Houstons Fox 26:
Yahcanon with the Black Panther Party says, we have to take back the power, it will define who we are.
Theyre the latest group to target the Waller County Sheriff after the July 13th death of Sandra Bland.
The group took to the streets in what appeared to be a stand off with deputies from Waller County backed up by Harris County and the weapons were everywhere

(23 posts)Seems like a really bad situation. Wonder why those police officers were so relaxed.

(4,713 posts)Maybe they thought better of trying to play bad ass when cameras are on & the other side doesn't have a whole lot to lose?

(35,374 posts)It's a hate group, but it's the kind of group that instead of doing something typically relies on passive-aggressive confrontation, claims, and things like what they did--"oink, oink, bang, bang."
Now, is that a threat or not? If accused, they claim it's not and the conversation spirals down into the toilet because it's not the easiest thing to prove beyond all reasonable doubt (which is the standard that they hold others to). If not accused, they run around saying they threatened the police and the pigs backed down.
Best to let them bleat. They get a couple of minutes on the tube, feel awesome, and crawl back under a rock.
In Houston, it's the self-stylin' Quanell X. Apparently a bit to the NW it's Yahcanon. Nice "sacred names" name, that; probably one of the "black Israelite" culters.

And no mention of the New Black Panther Party would be complete without pointing out that they consider the wimpazoid Farrakhan to be a loser mega-weenie in the Struggle. In other words, if we're comparing hate groups, Farrakhan's a softie compared to the NPPP folk, holding themselves erect and stiff against all comers that would challenge their masculinity.

The wiki page, last I looked, was also enlightening.
On edit:
They did, however, falsify many a claim made here in the last 48 hours or so. If armed black men were seen in public, would they be allowed their 2nd amendment rights. The universal prediction was "hell, no."
Perhaps the claim was meant to be a statistical truth and was simply misphrased as an absolute fact. Or perhaps the police are no longer in control over how they're perceived.

(17,651 posts)This becomes a big concern.
How much longer do black people have to wait before serious changes are made, 5 years, 50 years, 200?
How many times does this country have to be told black folks are tired of being burdened by racial injustice?
We didn't do this, the United States of Amerikkka did. The USA needs to get busy cleaning up the mess it made then perhaps the need for counter hate groups wouldn't be thought of as a necessary evil, would they? Racists will no longer be able to use the laws to oppress or kill with impunity.
Do I like that these groups exist? The answer is no but I do understand.
"Change" isn't coming fast enough when black folks act all peaceable-like some are even less patient than others.

(6,324 posts)Over and over its been posted that black people can never exercise their second amendment rights because they will be killed right away. That any open carry by a black man was a death sentence.
Maybe all rights are indeed for all people and we need to drop the white supremacist narrative that guns and self defense are not for minorities....

(17,651 posts)Let's see if that holds true everywhere looney RW gunners show up and with the same frequency.
Btw, have you taken American black folks tolerance temperature and blood pressure lately?
I don't do crystal balls but I can guess both are running a little high.

Open carry by 20 or 30 ARMED black men, and the cops don't have the balls to try anything.
These cops committing unjustifiable homicides are essentially cowards.

(4,713 posts)Why do you think we always got jumped in school? It's never been a fair fight, now the white person just has a gun & badge instead of their buddies.

(4,713 posts)where everything is gum drops & bubble gum farts? Are you seriously trying to marginalize the murders of hundreds of unarmed minorities?

Nothing but good could come of this.
All previously seen here. Can it be inferred some open carry is ok?
