Question (about trump/ sorry.)

How does his 'run' compare with the early years of ronnie raygun? Clearly not exactly comparable. as trump ain't no governor, but any comparison? 'Can't possibly happen,' and then it did.

Waddya think?

Reagan was more than willing to hand off power to his conniving CIA underlings so long as he was the face of the product.

I don't think Trump trusts anyone enough to do that. His ego wouldn't allow it. And that might be his ultimate undoing.

Not to mention Trump's never held elected office, nor has he even faced a vote for elected office.

They are both media phenomena, but Reagan was a solid ideologue. Trump is an improviser.

Reagan was smooth, and not a braggart-- his speeches were crafted to calm more than inflame even though they were rightwing. But, he did appeal to the lower denominators, like Trump is doing now. And, he had the advantage of a very unpopular Carter to run against. Unemployment, inflation, and the Iranian hostage crisis sealed Carter's fate. Ted Kennedy primarying him didn't help.

Reagan also had been a Governor and California hadn't slid into the ocean during his tenure, so he had some cred. Trump's alleged business savvy could be comparable to Reagan's political savvy in some minds, but as much as Trump gasses on, we're not in as bad times as he claims.

He doesn't have to hold fundraisers.

He doesn't have to promise favors.

He can out spend all his competitors.

He is dangerous.

The electorate is uninformed and misinformed.

Fox 'news' has created a monster they can not control.
