And I don't know what else you wanted Tsipras to do... He put a referendum to the people, and they voted to stay in the EU so he was just following that...

(55,445 posts)but since they also voted to stay in the EU, they were essentially telling Tsipras to go back to the bargaining table and hammer out a better deal (it's important to remember Greece doesn't have a whole hell of a lot of leverage to work with)
Either way, it will be interesting to see how this power play works out... Tsipras could come back stronger and unscathed, the far right parties could end up running the show, or a hardline leftist could come into office and tear the whole deal down...
