this sucks. I hit what ever in my hallway/ Possibly a cat, possibly a dustbunny....I was down for several minutes...whatever limited me, and I use the wall and a cane to walk to my bathroom.....I was able to crawl to the recliner and rise to my knees so I could get up.....recall your sisters & brothers who cannot so this for so many reasons.... DU be aware of limited mobility and less cruel to those who cannot be able. I have alarge bruise on my left butt check and my right elbow hurts. must have hit the wall when I went down....

(2,004 posts)I have always been clumsy, but it is getting worse the older I get. You should try and use an icepack for your elbow to keep the swelling down. My SO always says ice is good for everything except heart attacks and frostbite.
Take care and keep us updated on how you are doing.

(19,565 posts)I'm so sorry. Put some ice on the elbow before it gets worse overnight, and maybe check on the kitty when you can.

(5,519 posts)You poor thing! Are you sure you didn't break anything? Is any one there with you?
Getting older is surely not for sissies...it is hard! And then there are the accidents.
I hope you are all right.

(5,167 posts)So sorry to know that you fell.
Falls are a real shock to the system, in addition to the bruises and possibility of greater damage.
Good lighting wherever and whenever we walk throughout our space is vital.
Heal quickly.

(15,805 posts)Been there, done that, and it can be so scary!
My most recent: Napping in the recliner when the power went off during a thunder storm. It's one of those electric lift things, and I hadn't yet figured out that it has a place for batteries as backup. Took me a good thirty minutes to squirm out of the damn thing, but picturing what that looked like gave me a chuckle or two. And, yes, the power came back on about six seconds after I left the chair.
Hope you're okay!
