(16,375 posts)Old Ron took a page from Nixon's playbook to stop Carter's negotiations with the hostage holders from succeeding, as they would have if Reagan's goons hadn't promised arms for hostages. The fact that they would do such a thing is still chilling. Arms for hostages and Iran Contra have disappeared from the public's consciousness.
