Members of the activist movement known as Anonymous are preparing to take to the streets around the world in the second annual Million Mask March on 5 November.
To date 463 groups in towns and cities around the world have organised events to mark the Million Mask March on Wednesday, which coincides with Guy Fawkes Night.
The Guy Fawkes Mask has become an unofficial emblem of the online movement.

(18,402 posts)If that's the purpose of the masks, fine, I guess. But they certainly won't win hearts and minds, I should think. I can't figure out why this movement wants to identify itself with a Catholic extremist who tried to blow up the British Parliament. I suppose it's the anti-government thing. Who the hell knows.
All I can say is: the masks are scary and off-putting; the message is unclear and intimidating.

Your lack of clarity and your intimidation is merely inferred. As many others perceive a much different message than you seem to.
