There was a flutter of different flags around the Oxford Square and historic district this morning after the Oxford Mayor and Board of Aldermen voted to remove the Mississippi flag from all city property.

Going West on Jackson Avenue, the County jail was flying the United States flag and the Mississippi flag. Sheriff Buddy East said “we will continue to fly the flag of the United States and Mississippi flag until instructed otherwise by the Board of Supervisors.”
